Theme Ideas
Okay, so your thinking Themes.. maybe - but what? Well, what's most important to you as a couple? Maybe the first film you saw together was Lord of the Rings..
Or Star Wars?
Maybe you met at a Country & Western show. Here's a few ideas, from previous experience...
Beach Theme - Decorate the cake with shells, mermaid bride etc.
Butterfly Theme - More romantic than just hearts and flowers, easy to do, simple butterflies to dress, cake etc.
Candlelight Theme - Hurricane lights, tea lights (even in jam jars) Pillar candles etc.
Celestial/Moon & Stars Theme - Stars, Moons, Crystals, twinkling lights etc.
Celtic Theme - Greens if Irish with shamrocks and Celtic rings, or go Scottish with traditional highland dress and dance. Bagpipes etc.
Christmas Theme - Red and Green... Christmas decorations, Go raid the loft!
Cinderella Theme - The dress, the fairytale castle cake etc.
Country Western Theme - Wild flowers in tin jugs, checked table clothes, straw bales, western wear, Country music etc
Garden Theme - Flowers, flowers & flowers (ideal if a future in law is a florist!)
Gothic Theme - Maybe best for Hallow's Eve.... Bride of Dracula, Zombies, Witches, Goblins and Ghouls... Terrific fun!
Lord of Rings theme - Similar to Medieval, except dress up as the characters... Gandalf for the father of the bride, etc.
Medieval Theme - Robin Hood & Maid Marion, Henry VIII, Tudors or Renaissance, Hog roasts, Mead & Ale, falconry, jousting, limitless possibilities
Native American - Indians, Tippi's, traditional type of service, involving taking your steps around a fire, with your guests in a circle around you.,
Oriental Theme - Black & Red, Geishas and fans, and japaese parasol, Cherry Blossom, martial arts display etc.
Star Wars/Star Trek - More dressing up fun, and able to decided which wookie will be best man etc.
Valentine Theme - Heart shapes where-ever possible, balloons, cake etc. Red & white. Cupid.
Victorian Theme - Tall top hats, high collared dresses, tea party reception.
Winter Wonderland Theme - White, Midnight blue, silver & platinum. Snow globes, Velvet and white fur... come in from Narnia!
